Paperfox is the online bookstore of a working publishing house. The titles here came off our own press and ship from our own shelves in Rohtak — which is exactly why we can offer things a marketplace can't.
Paperfox began as the shopfront for one publisher's own books — and it still is.
Paper Fox was started by Aniket Kapoor, who also founded Author's Ink Publications. The two have always worked as one: Author's Ink edits, designs and prints the books; Paperfox is where readers buy them. The first titles on these shelves date back to 2016.
That single fact — publisher and shop under one roof — shapes everything about how this store works. There is no distributor in the middle taking a cut, no reseller listing our stock alongside ten others, no third-party warehouse. When you order a book, it leaves the same building it was printed in.
"One-stop solution for books" was the original idea. Doing it directly is what makes it worth it.
It also means we can do the thing we're proudest of: get an author to physically sign a batch of their own book before it ships. A reseller can't offer that. We can, because the author and the press and the shop are all part of the same story.
What "publisher-direct" actually gets you
Three practical differences between buying a Paperfox title here and finding the same book on a general marketplace.
More reaches the author
Buying direct skips the distributor and marketplace margins stacked on top of a cover price. A far larger share of what you pay goes back to the person who wrote the book.
Signed editions are possible
Because the author, the press and the shop are one operation, we can have a book physically autographed before dispatch. Stock is limited to the batch the author signed — and it's exclusive to Paperfox.
Genuine, first-hand stock
Every copy ships from our own warehouse in Rohtak. Nothing is sourced from third-party sellers, so there are no pirated reprints and no remaindered copies.

Debut and independent Indian authors
Many of these titles are first books by writers a big retailer would never stock. Giving them a proper shelf is the point.
Not only in English
We publish and sell originals in Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi too — written and printed here, not translated in from somewhere else.
Reading shouldn't be expensive
Pocket editions start at just a few rupees, so there's always something worth taking home.
The signature matters
A number of our titles are sold as author-signed editions — a small thing that turns a paperback into something kept.
